Heavy rains destroy several homes in Nyandarua.

Numerous homes have been detroyed in the Bongo region in Nyandarua due to relentless rainfall on Monday. The intense downpour, accompanied by strong gusts of wind, toppled over at least five trees, which subsequently crashed onto residential properties, resulting in the destruction of over 15 houses as reported by eyewitnesses.

Additionally, the rainfall wreaked havoc on agricultural fields, with the local MCA noting the unfortunate demise of a cow struck by a falling tree during the calamity.

“We are profoundly shocked by the devastation caused by the heavy rains in this area,” stated Nyakio Ward MCA Zack Njeru to the press on Monday. “A woman’s residence was entirely demolished by the deluge, leaving her without shelter and in dire straits.”

The MCA appealed to charitable individuals to swiftly assist those displaced by the catastrophe, recognizing the potential for prolonged exposure to harsh weather conditions.
