Governor Wamatangi Issues Warning to Political Opponents Disrupting Development Agenda.

Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi has issued a stern warning to certain leaders in the county, accusing them of plotting to undermine his development initiatives.

Addressing the community in Kerwa, Sigona Ward, Kikuyu sub-county, where he distributed certified maize seeds and fertilizer to more than 5,000 farmers, Governor Wamatangi stressed the importance of maturity and tolerance in local politics.

Expressing frustration over disruptive behavior by leaders during his development tours, the Governor cautioned his rivals against attending his meetings.

“Starting today, if someone has no interest in my meeting, stay away… if it’s politics, wait until 2027… today is about development,” he declared.

Wamatangi has faced political challenges from a faction of MCAs and MPs attempting to impeach him, citing his failure to appoint County Executive Committee officers and form an all-inclusive Cabinet.

In November of the previous year, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua intervened, urging a meeting with the concerned MCAs.

“The Ruto administration advocates for a robust devolution, and thus, we cannot tolerate disputes that hinder service delivery to the people,” stated the Deputy President during the reconciliation.

He underscored the necessity of seamless collaboration between the Executive and Legislative branches of the County Government to fulfill the primary goal of devolution – driving and sustaining development.

Following discussions with MCAs, Gachagua is scheduled to meet with Members of Parliament from the region and Governor Wamatangi to further address the issues at hand.
