32 Year old arrested in siaya county for growing Bhang

A 32-year-old man is currently detained at the Siaya Police Station following his arrest for the cultivation of cannabis.

Patrick Owino Ayieng’, the individual in question, was apprehended after authorities discovered an alleged cannabis cultivation operation in Nyangera village within Nyadorera ‘A’ sub-location.

Siaya County Police Commander, Mr. Cleti Kimaiyo, reported that the suspect was taken into custody as part of an operation conducted by local National Government Administration officers.

Acting on a tip-off, law enforcement officers raided Owino’s farm in Nyangera village, where they uncovered approximately 45 stems of fresh cannabis plants.

Kimaiyo further stated that during the operation, the suspect was arrested on the scene and is currently held in police custody pending arraignment in court on charges related to the illegal cultivation of cannabis.

The County Police chief affirmed the commitment of law enforcement to continue crackdown efforts to eradicate the illegal cultivation of cannabis from the area entirely.
